Curves?

I’m thinking about joining Curves in the next few weeks. I really want to lose some weight and get into shape, but I don’t know if I will actually be able to stick with it. I’m so lazy. I would hate to pay the registration fee and whatnot and then stop going after the first or second time. I can see myself going once and deciding I don’t like working out when other people are around…

Looks like I have another day off tomorrow. I haven’t worked since last Tuesday because of Thanksgiving. Shannon sent me a text message earlier saying that I don’t have to go tomorrow because while she’s better, she’s not allowed to drive and is still off work (she didn’t work last week, either, because she had vertigo). She’s going to stay home with Mia tomorrow and will let me know about Tuesday. I really hope they’ll need me on Tuesday. I need to money to pay my car insurance. That, and I miss Drew and Mia.

I’m getting really bad at keeping up with my schoolwork. Tomorrow I have three things due for Comp, one of which is the first draft of a major research paper. Guess who hasn’t even started yet… ;) Classes end in about 2 1/2 weeks so I need to get better at this. A little late, no? That reminds me that I need to schedule my classes for the spring semester.

I’m nearly done with my Christmas shopping. I’ve already gotten Mom, Zach, Drew, and Mia’s presents, although I have to return the Stretch & Fun Elmo that I bought for Mia because it doesn’t make the sounds it’s supposed to. I still need to get stuff for Dad and Katie. I think I know what I’m getting my dad, but I’m not sure about Katie. One of the DVDs on her list? I did knit her a stuffed sheep, but I want to get her something else, too.

I need to update the “about me” page on here. Nothing applies to me anymore. Tomorrow, maybe? Right now it’s late and I’m going to sleep after this episode of Law & Order: SVU is over.

*wave*

I completely forgot about this. Oops. Maybe I’ll start using it again? I’ve been thinking of getting a domain again but I might stick to wordpress.com for a bit to see if I’ll actually blog on a semi-regular basis… More in-depth update sometime tomorrow, maybe!

I’m alive…

Eh, haven't really been in the blogging mood lately. I never really have been, have I?

Prom was last night. I had no fun at all. A waste of money and time. The food was crap (since when was a cantaloupe & watermelon platter, eggrolls, and meatballs considered a meal?), the drinks were flat and all tasted like diet, the music sucked, and I just sat there. It started at 7, I got there at almost 8, and was ready to leave by 8:30. I would've left, too, if I wouldn't have been Carrie & Danielle's ride. I was in tears by the time I got home at 11:30.

The entire time I was there I was looking at the skinny girls with 0% bodyfat, boyfriends, and a ton of friends. I kept thinking about how fat and loserish I was. Put four of those girls together and you'd get me, minus the guys and friends. I'm such a failure.

Graduation is in less than a week. Saturday at 2PM will be the end of my HS years. Most people say that HS is the best four years of your life. If that's true my life is going to be crap.

If you can't tell I'm not in the best mood today. Pictures will come soon enough.

Yay!

I finally found somebody that doesn’t have a problem with my age! Her name is Jemma and she has two adorable little kids. Charlie is just over two years old and Sophie is eleven months. I met with Jemma for the first time yesterday and I definately have the job. :D Her and her husband, Mike, are both doctors. She has been on maternity leave since Sophie was born and is thinking about going back to work this summer. For now she just wants me to come over on weekdays and watch the kids for a couple hours while she gets some things done. This summer, if things work out with her going back to work, I will be watching Charlie and Sophie in the mornings and early afternoons. I’m not quite sure when my first day is yet. Jem said that she’d really like to meet my parents first so that they don’t worry about me, know that Jem and Mike are good people, know where I’ll be, and know that they don’t live in a nasty house. I’m excited. :D

I think I might do some spring cleaning in my bedroom today. It is a pigsty in here!

School is okayish. I’m ready for spring break. Friday will be our first day of break. We go back on the 24th. *dies* I need a break. My classes are easy but the senioritis bug has bit me. Graduation is only a month and a half away and I can’t wait.

So, a couple people asked for pictures of my dyed Wool-Ease yarn. Here are pictures. :)

No luck.

Unfortunately I never heard back from Lori. Since then I have received two more inquiries. One person never e-mailed me back. Another, a man named Mike, e-mailed me back to let me know that the hours that I am available are not what he needs. Bleh.

On the plus side, I have a job interview at Samuel Mancino’s Italian Eatery on March 28. They are opening a new location and need to hire about thirty people. I don’t really want to work in a restaurant but I guess I’ll have to live with it. Bleh.

I gave blood yesterday! Man, what a weird feeling. I could actually feel the blood leaving my arm. Apparently not too many people actually can. I don’t really have any bruising where the needle was. I think that the finger prick hurt a lot more than the actual donation. The tip of my right middle finger is still sore. It hurts to write. Eee. I got a free t-shirt, though!

I can’t believe it is Friday tomorrow. This week has gone by pretty quickly. All next week I get to sleep in. I don’t have to be to school until 9:40PM because the sophomores and a couple juniors are taking the OGTs. It will be nice. :D

Today Mrs. Pearson wasn’t at school so she had a substitute. I have a study hall that block so I am her student aide, along with one of my best friends. I graded the stack of papers that she had there and me, Danielle, and Brandi decided to leave and go to Subway. I love Subway! Their cookies are the best EVER. Yum.

I should probably go paint. We’re redoing our family room. So far I’ve done nearly all of the painting, which has been two coats of primer. We bought the cream color for the top half of the walls today so I’m going to get started on that. Fun fun.

Job?

I possibly have a new job babysitting 4 1/2 kids. Yes, I said 4 1/2. There is a thirteen year old, eleven-year-old, seven year old, a one year old, and a fetus. I posted an ad on local classifieds website and within a couple hours I received an e-mail.

Hello:

I was wanting some more information on your availabilty. We are looking for babysitters on different days of the week so that we can attend trainings or just a night out. We currently have 4 children and a newborn on the way in 3 weeks. We have a 13,11,7 and 1 year old. We live near St. V’s. Would you be interested?

Thanks,
Lori

I replied with this:

Hello Lori!

I am available from 2:30 PM until 10:30 PM Monday through Thursday, 2:30 PM until anytime on on Friday, anytime on Saturday, and from early Sunday until about 10:30 PM. I am great with kids of any ages! I currently babysit a fourteen-year-old, a ten year old, and a three year old. I have babysat these kids for seven years and have experience with newborns.

I should probably note that I am currently seventeen years old. This seems to be a problem with some people but I can assure you that I am responsible. I have references if you would like them.

If you need any more information, feel free to e-mail me or even phone me. My name is Michelle and my phone number is [REMOVED]. I hope to hear back from you soon!

Michelle

I have a feeling I won’t be hearing from Lori again, though. People seem to have a problem with my age. Apparently a seventeen year old is not able to take care of children, even though she has nearly seven years of experience. I bet you could put me, a seventeen year old with great references, CPR knowledge, reasonable price, and who loves children next to a thirty-five year old with no experience, no references, no CPR knowledge, charges $10 an hour, and who hates children and they would choose the thirty-five year old just because she is older. I’m really hoping that I am wrong, though. I would love to have this job!

I dyed more yarn the other night with the Lion Brand Wool-Ease. I used the Grape, Berry Blue, and Raspberry Reaction. The BB and RR looks the same. The Grape looked okay but I used a lot more water than I should have so the color is somewhat muted. My mom really seems to like it, though. I ended up dyeing the entire skein with the Tropical Punch. I love the color! I think I might knit some mittens out of it.

I think I am going to knit Amanda some baby booties, a baby hat, and a baby sweater for Natalie. She is due four months from tomorrow (June 8!) so I have some time to get it done. If I’m really fast and hop right to it I could get it done in time for the baby shower (Either the first or second Saturday in May).

I really can’t wait until Natalie graces us with her presence. Four months seems like such a long time!

Apparently I’m not meant to have a blog/website. I still can’t get to michellealicious. It’s been over two weeks now. Hmph. I with wordpress.com would let you make your own layouts instead of just give you a list of themes to choose from. They’re nice themes but I want to use my own. :(

I’m off to chop some almonds for the hamsters. I love those two little guys (the hamsters, not the almonds.)

Dyeing Wool-ease with Kool-aid

I have read many many times that you cannot dye Lion Brand Wool-Ease yarn. I wanted to try it myself so I went to Michael’s, who was having a sale on WE so I bought a skein of Fisherman WE. I cut about a yard off and dyed it with one packet of Tropical Punch Kool-Aid and 1/4 cup of warm water. I absolutely love the way it came out. It’s red and it has white specks. I’m going to try it with some Berry Blue, Raspberry Something-or-other, and Grape later. :D

I bought two skeins of Moda-Dea Wild! yarn while at Michael’s, too. It was on sale for 75% off and was originally priced at $8.99 and I bought it for $2.39! It’s so soft and fuzzy. I just don’t know what I want to make with it…

Apparently this is my new blog. Michellealicious.net is dead. It has been down for nearly two weeks. Bleh. At least I was getting free hosting from Katy or I would be pissed.

I had such a good week. I reconnected with an old friend, knitted a lot(ish), and was just generally happy. Here’s to hoping for another good week!

What the fuck?

For some weird reason I cannot get to my website if I type in http://michellealicious.net but if I type in http://www.michellealicious.net it works perfectly fine. I must’ve done something to it because it worked perfectly fine before today.

I am slowly getting my bedroom organized and clean. My desk is nearly finished and, I must say, it looks nice. I love all of the room that this new desk has. I have no complaints about this new chair, either. I love ‘em both!

I wrote about myself in the “About” page for this place. It’s a lot longer than I expected and not quite finished. I should post it on my actual website sometime.

I have to admit that I really like blogging here. I know that my mom and Zach won’t be finding it anytime soon so I can actually say things. With any luck I’ll keep posting here.

Today has been a lazy day. It’s nearly 5:00PM and I am still in my pajamas. I played Mario for a while earlier, washed two loads of laundry, cleaned a little bit, and made some blueberry muffins. I should turn the TV on and watch last weeks new episodes of Law & Order: SVU and ER. I taped them both and have yet to watch them. I’m quite looking forward to the episode of ER. I’ve been waiting for it for about a month. You would think I would’ve watched it already. xD

I guess I’m going to go. My bladder is about to explode!

Hmm…

I decided to start a blog over here at wordpress.com after not being able to access michellealicious the majority of the time. Who knows if I'll actually use it. I hope so!

I like the way WP 2.0's backend looks. I may have to upgrade michellealicious when I can get to it next time. :D
